La Floresta Hotel

La Floresta enjoys a great location in quiet surroundings, but still in the centre of Baños, just a few minutes’ walk from the lively main street and pleasant parks.

The colourful, two-storey hotel has 29 rooms set around the lush courtyard. There are many cosy communal areas where you can relax in a hammock and have a chat with the other travellers.

The rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a TV, a minibar and an en suite bathroom with hair dryer.

The hotel also has its own souvenir shop, travel agency, bar and small restaurant which is open all day.

Golondrina I (Galapagos cruise)

Look forward to experiencing the amazing nature and wildlife of the Galapagos Islands aboard the motorboat Golondrina I, which will be your home on the Galapagos cruise.

The boat has just 8 cabins, accommodating 16 passengers on 3 decks. The cabins are small with bunk beds, but all have their own toilet and air conditioning. We use the cabins located on the middle and upper decks where there is least engine noise.

There are several pleasant communal areas and a sun deck where you can relax and talk to your fellow travellers about the day’s experiences. A cosy, laid-back atmosphere prevails on board, and both your guide and the crew do everything they can to ensure you enjoy an unforgettable stay on Golondrina I.

All the meals of the day are served in the restaurant as a buffet. Free water, coffee and tea are available throughout the day. The boat also has a small bar where you can buy drinks.

Snorkelling equipment (mask and flippers) is available to hire on the boat.
The price for rental on a 5-day cruise is around 30 USD per person

The price for rental on an 8-day cruise is around 40 USD per person

It is also possible to hire a wetsuit if you need one. The price is the same as for rental of snorkelling equipment.

Grand Hotel Guayaquil

Centrally located in Guayaquil, Grand Hotel Guayaquil is just a 10-minute walk from the cosy harbour promenade, Malecón 2000, and a 5-minute walk from the Parque de las Iguanas, where you will see lots of lovely, colourful iguanas.

The hotel has 181 spacious, modern rooms, which offer comfortable beds, a TV, a fridge, air conditioning, a coffee maker, a safe and Wi-Fi. The bathrooms are fully kitted out with toiletries and hair dryers.

The delicious breakfast (included) is served as a buffet in the hotel’s own Cafeteria La Pepa De Oro which features a large selection of hot and cold dishes. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner.

The hotel has a lovely roof terrace where you can relax or play pool. You can also go for a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or enjoy a delicious cocktail in the La Tortuga bar.

There is also a large gym and the option to purchase a massage.

Hacienda El Porvenir

Situated just outside Cotopaxi National Park is Hacienda El Porvenir, which is set in a scenic area at an altitude of 3,600 metres, surrounded by four volcanoes, one of which is Cotopaxi.

The hacienda dates back to the colonial period, but from 1999, the owners decided to open the farm to guests and share the unique atmosphere and stunning location with others. It is a working farm with horses and cattle, and they produce their own spices, vegetables, milk and cheese.

The hacienda is built in the traditional style using local materials, and all 22 rooms are uniquely appointed. All rooms have a heater for the chilly nights and an en suite bathroom with hot water. Wi-Fi is also available.

There are two large living areas for use by guests, where you can enjoy a good book by the fireplaces or play various games and meet other travellers.

The restaurant serves delicious local and international dishes in a pleasant setting.

You can also pamper yourself by purchasing access to the hotel’s own spa, APU Mountain SPA. Soothe those aching muscles in the hot baths and jacuzzis in tranquil surroundings.

The hacienda offers various activities, which are paid for locally, such as horseback riding, mountain biking, cooking classes and high rope climbing for the more adventurous guests. The activities are conducted by Spanish-speaking guides, but riding instruction, for example, is given in English before departure, so Spanish skills are not a necessity.

Treat yourself to an upgrade to the hacienda’s suite rooms. These rooms are larger and have their own fireplace, which the staff light in the evening, making it warm and cosy at bedtime.

Hotel Ninfa Galapagos

Hotel Ninfa enjoys a wonderful location in the heart of Puerto Ayora, just a 2-minute walk from the pier and Avenida Charles Darwin, where you will find supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and shops.

Although the hotel is close to everything, it is still set back enough for it to be nice and quiet, allowing you to enjoy a good night’s sleep.

The hotel is on two floors and has 40 rooms located around the courtyard garden, where there is a cosy bar and restaurant, which is open all day. This is where your breakfast (included) is served as a buffet.

The rooms all have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a TV and a small fridge. You can store your values in a safe in reception.

The hotel also has a small jacuzzi and pool where you can enjoy a refreshing dip after a hot day of experiences in the colourful district.

If you will be visiting Tortuga Bay on your stay in Puerto Ayora, the entrance to the trail is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The hotel also offers free bicycles, which you can use to get around the city.

Villa Laguna

Villa Laguna is a cosy, family-run hotel in Puerto Ayora. Situated in peaceful surroundings, it is a mere 5-10-minute walk from the pier and Avenida Charles Darwin, where you will find supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and shops.

The hotel is set out over four floors (no lift) and has just 19 rooms, arranged around a courtyard with a small saltwater pool, where you can enjoy a dip after an adventure-packed day on the island.

The spacious rooms offer air conditioning, a TV, a safe and a fridge. In the bathroom, there is a hair dryer, and shampoo and conditioner in refillable dispensers.

The hotel also has a water dispenser, where you can fill your water bottle with filtered water free of charge.

Your breakfast (included) is served as a buffet in the small restaurant, El Manglar. The restaurant is open all day, so you can also enjoy your lunch and dinner there, either at a table inside the restaurant or in the courtyard.

Just 200 metres from the hotel is the peaceful Laguna de las Ninfas in the midst of a mangrove forest, where you can spot various birds, not to mention rays, small sharks and baby turtles, too, with a little luck.

If you will be visiting the beach at Tortuga Bay on your stay in Puerto Ayora, the entrance to the trail is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Hotel Volcano

The cosy Hotel Volcano is centrally located in Puerto Villamil, just a few minutes’ walk from the heart of the small town.  A stone’s throw from the sea, you have the opportunity to start the day with a refreshing dip in the warm sea water.

The hotel is arranged over 3 floors and has just 10 rooms – 5 standard rooms with single beds and 5 superior rooms with a double bed and sea view. The light and airy rooms are modern and all offer an en suite bathroom, air conditioning and a safe.

Breakfast, which is included, is served as a buffet in the hotel’s small breakfast restaurant, located on the ground floor.

Relax on the communal terrace on the first floor at the end of an adventure-packed day, enjoying a wonderful view of the town and the sea.

Hotel San Vicente Galapagos

San Vicente is a cosy, little hotel centrally located in Puerto Villamil, around a 5-minute walk from the beach.

The hotel has 21 rooms set around the lush courtyard where you can sit and relax and read a good book. There is also a small jacuzzi.

The rooms are simply appointed, but all have an en suite bathroom, air conditioning and a TV. Free Wi-Fi is also available in the restaurant and courtyard garden.

Your breakfast (included) is served as a buffet in the hotel restaurant. Due to the pleasant climate of the island, you can choose to sit both inside and outside. The restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, serving delicious Ecuadorian dishes.

Coffee and tea are available at no extra cost throughout the day.

Casa Hotel Las Plazas

Casa Hotel Las Plazas enjoys a great location in Quito’s cosy Old Town, just 200 metres from Ecuador’s Plaza de la Independencia (Independence Square).

The hotel has 14 rooms, all of which are simply appointed, but have everything you need: a private bathroom, a TV, a safe, a heater and Wi-Fi.

Breakfast (included) is served in the hotel’s small breakfast restaurant.

Holiday Inn Quito Airport Hotel

Holiday Inn is perfectly located for catching a morning flight out of Quito. Quito’s international airport, Mariscal Sucre, is just a 5-minute drive away.

The hotel has 125 comfortable rooms spread over three floors, all of which offer a smart TV, mini-fridge, air conditioning, coffee/tea & bottled water, air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi and an en suite bathroom.

In the hotel lobby, you’ll find a bar and a restaurant serving a varied menu.

La Casa del Suizo

Your Amazon adventure starts from the moment you arrive at La Casa del Suizo. You will be going on a 15-minute boat ride on the Napo River before arriving at the jungle lodge.

The lodge has 76 spacious, rustic rooms, all of which have a fan, an en suite bathroom and private terrace with a hammock where you can relax and enjoy the lush surroundings. There are mosquito nets on the windows, so you get a natural breeze in the room, while listening to the sounds of the jungle and the rushing river. At night, however, we recommend using earplugs, as the sounds of the rainforest may be louder than you might expect.

In the large communal area of the lodge, there is a swimming pool with a children’s pool, a bar with lounge area and a large restaurant, where all meals are served as a delicious, sumptuous buffet. We promise you won’t go home hungry!

Above the restaurant, there is a communal area with games and TV, and from here you can climb further up into a small lookout tower and enjoy a nice panoramic view of the rainforest and the lodge. On a clear day, you can see the Andes mountains and the beautiful, cone-shaped Tungurahua volcano on the horizon.

The stay includes various excursions such as a walk in the rainforest, boat ride on the river and a visit to a small local community where ancient traditions are still kept alive.
