Sail through the tropical rainforest in South America on one of the world’s longest rivers. The river originates from the Andes and meanders 6500 km across the South American continent to its mouth in the Atlantic. On discovery of the jungle, you will learn about and experience a wealth of tropical trees, medicinal plants, butterflies, alligators and other interesting animals that call the rainforest home. Also, there ample opportunities to spot toucans, parrots and other beautiful birds.
In Brazil you can also get to meet the Indians native to the rainforest; you can visit a native family and learn about their way of life and go out on a fishing trip where you can catch fish like Piranhas, among other things. You will also have laid eyes on what we call “The Meeting of Waters”, where the two major rivers Rio Solimões and Rio Preto merge. One river is muddy and brown while the other is black and in the middle, the dividing line between the two rivers is clear to see.
In Peru you will sail down the river and observe the jungle’s wildlife and fauna, as well as wander to Parrot Clay Lick, where numerous parrot species flock to. You will also sail to Monkey Island where you will experience the fascinating and entertaining monkeys.
Furthermore, you will get a chance to visit the Tambopata Candamo Nature Reserve that offers a 5 km long hike through the jungle where you can see monkeys, birds, snakes and even jaguars, if you’re lucky.
So if you want a trip filled with unforgettable experiences, breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife, do not miss a trip to the Amazon rainforest.
