Travelogue from Argentina: Family tour to Argentina Highlights

Oh I feel so blissful when my thoughts fly me back to my unforgettable tour to Argentina. I have travelled in many countries and for me, I would rather travel to new destinations each time; but let me say right away that I would so terribly like to return to Argentina again.

This country has so many contrasts and they range from as far as the landscape to the experiences, so much so that it took me by storm. My husband and I travelled with our 6-year-old daughter and we all just loved the tour.

We started off in the beautiful Buenos Aires with its diverse neighborhoods, each with its own special atmosphere. In the old neighborhood of La Boca there are pastel colored houses standing side by side meanwhile in the hip district of Palermo, there are lots of small shops and cozy cafes and restaurants. By nightfall, it came alive with many restaurants boasting entertainment such as tango dancers during dinner. It is recommended to taste the famous Argentine beef, it is outstanding!

The tour’s next highlight was the Peninsula Valdes where we got up close to hundreds of sea lions on the beach just off the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. What scenery it was to see the big males fighting and the many females who cherished their young.

One of the most impressive and most beautiful things I have ever seen, we saw in the southernmost part of Argentina in El Calafate: Perito Moreno Glacier, which extends over 14-15 km. We sailed out in a boat so that we could get close to the glacier and there to meet us was an ice-blue sight that we will never forget. There was glacier for as far as the eye could see, and the color of the glacier changed depending on whether or not it was sunny or cloudy.

From the cold of the glacier, we flew to the tropical north in Iguazu to enjoy the world-famous waterfalls. Before arriving we thought, can we spend 2 whole days to see the waterfalls? And as surprising as it is clear, the answer is YES. The waterfalls are indescribable in their beauty and we never grew tired of moving ourselves along new paths and bridges to constantly discover new aspects of breath-taking beauty, which is experienced very differently from the Argentinian and Brazilian side.  We also met turtles and one alligator on this tour, as a bit of extra spice.

We love the contrasts that Argentina has to offer and shall certainly be back there again!
