Porto da Lua

Porto da Lua is a lovely little boutique hotel right on the beach in Praia do Forte.

The hotel has three floors and just 24 rooms, all overlooking the beautiful beach and the breathtaking sea.

The rooms are simply appointed with colourful paintings by a local artist and feature air conditioning, a TV, a safe, a hair dryer and a minibar. Relax in a hammock on the terrace or balcony while enjoying the sound of the waves.

Please note that the hotel does not have a swimming pool. On the other hand, the reef in front of the hotel forms small natural pools which are great for swimming in at high tide and wonderful for snorkelling in at low tide. These natural pools, called “piscinas naturais” in Portuguese, are a quite unique experience.

The hotel has a small restaurant serving Bahian dishes and all manner of seafood. Be sure to try the local speciality Moqueca de Peixe, a kind of stew with fish and tiger prawns. You can also choose to dine at a restaurant in Praia do Forte town centre, a mere 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Right next to the hotel are TAMAR sea turtle project and the town’s charming little lighthouse.
Porto da Lua is close to everything, yet far enough away to avoid noise from the town’s bars, for example. Enjoy the tranquillity and have a great end to your holiday.
