The Estância Mimosa nature reserve

Discover beautiful waterfalls and enjoy a dip in natural pools on this half-day excursion to the Estância Mimosa nature reserve.

You will be picked up from the hotel in the morning and driven around 25 km north to Estância Mimosa, a cattle farm with its own 400-hectare nature reserve. A guide will brief you on the day ahead,

before taking you on a guided walk through the lush woodland around the Rio Mimoso River, passing 9 waterfalls of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, you can swim under the waterfalls and in natural pools, explore small caves and look out over the Serra da Bodoquena with its waterfalls and mountains that form the valley around the Mimoso River. If you feel daring, you can jump from a 6-metre-high bridge into a natural water hole. On some stretches, you can also go on a short boat ride and relax while enjoying the surroundings.

The waterfall route is around 2.8 km, and there will be lifeguards present at various places along the route.

After an exciting walk through the forest, you return to the farm, where a traditional Brazilian lunch with local dishes and sweet treats await you.

You will be driven back to the hotel after an eventful trip.

Remember to bring a day backpack containing a towel, swimwear, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, water and possibly some cash in case you wish to shop for souvenirs in the farm’s small shop. There are changing rooms at the farm where you can change into your swimwear.

The wearing of closed-toe shoes is a requirement on this tour. If you do not have closed-toe shoes, neoprene shoes can be rented at the ranch.

Children must be aged 4+ to participate. The tour is not recommended for people in poor health or pregnant women.
