Go on an exciting boat trip off Playa Sámara beach and experience playful dolphins and explore the life under the ocean waves. With a little luck, you may even get to see a humpback whale!
You sail out of Sámara and feel the lovely cooling sea breeze as you look back in towards the coast, hoping to spot the playful creatures. Several different species of dolphins swim off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast, so you may be lucky enough to see Atlantic spotted dolphins, spinner dolphins and common bottlenose dolphins leaping out of the water. If you are there between August and November, there is also a chance of spotting the magnificent humpback whales.
On your way back to Sámara, you anchor down near the small island of Chora, which has a beautiful sandy beach where you can see hermit crabs and iguanas. Here, you can snorkel in the clear blue sea and explore the exciting life under the ocean waves, including corals and colourful fish, before heading back to the coast.
Remember to bring: We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes, swimwear, bathing shoes and sunglasses or a hat with a brim/visor, and bring along a towel, sunscreen and a camera.
