Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Departure from the UK

Departure day, where you will fly to Havana with connecting flights along the way. In Havana, you will be met by a driver who will take you to your accommodation.

Day 2: Tour of Havana

Today is devoted to a tour of the historical part of Havana, which is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Wherever you go in Havana, you will come across evidence of the city’s Spanish cultural heritage and architecture dating back to the colonial era. We stroll through the charming old streets of Havana, passing beautiful squares, historic buildings and a string of sculptures and monuments from modern and older periods. We experience the contrast between newly renovated and finely maintained streets and buildings, and the more run-down, dilapidated areas that make Havana unique.

Highlights of the tour include a visit to the Plaza de Armas, the oldest square in the city and site of the city museum and the governor’s palace. We also see Plaza de San Francisco Asis with its beautiful church, Plaza Vieja with its magnificent old colonial buildings and Plaza de la Catedral with the handsome cathedral. The late afternoon and evening are yours to do with as you wish.

Day 3: Havana

No excursions scheduled. This means that you have all day to explore the delights of Havana on your own.

Day 4: Havana – Viñales Valley

Today you leave Havana behind and head off towards the delightful Viñales valley, a journey in a bus of around 3 hours. The landscape is predominantly made up of fertile valleys covered in banana palms and mango trees, tobacco fields and the impressive limestone mountains known locally as “mogotes”. The farmers here still grow crops and tobacco in the old-fashioned way, with the aid of ox-drawn carts.

The Viñales region is famous for the quality of its tobacco plants; it supplies the leaves that are subsequently rolled in the cigar factories of Havana to make world-famous brands such as Cohiba and Montecristo. The trip includes a visit to a cigar factory where you can see the entire process.
Please note: The cigar factories in Cuba stipulate that you must be at least 18 to enter.

We will also visit the most spectacular stalactite caves in Cuba, which used to be home to local indigenous tribes. We sail through the caves along the miles and miles of river that flow through this breathtaking natural phenomenon.

Day 5: Viñales Valley

The day is yours to do with as you wish. You can explore the beautiful Viñales area on your own, or choose one of the following excursions.

Day 6: Viñales dalen – Trinidad

Late in the afternoon you arrive in the charming city of Trinidad, which is on UNESCO’s list of conservative sites and characterized by beautiful colonial buildings.

Day 7: Trinidad

Join us on a guided city tour of Trinidad’s beautiful old quarter. Get your good walking shoes on, as Trinidad’s charming topped cobblestone streets are very uneven.

You will visit locations including the picturesque square, Plaza Mayor and the city’s cathedral, “Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima Trinidad”, one of the biggest churches in Cuba. Your guide will tell you about the city’s exciting history and architecture on the way. The tour ends with a drink at one of the city’s cozy bars.
