The waterfall route with Pailón del Diablo

One of the most popular things to experience in Baños is the scenic waterfall route, where countless waterfalls cascade down the mountainsides.

On this tour, you will travel on a local Chiva bus, a colourful bus without doors or windows, through beautiful scenery and past many beautiful waterfalls, with photo stops along the way. The highlight of the tour is the largest waterfall in the area, Pailón del Diablo, which translated into English means “Devil’s Cauldron”. You wander down a small path and across several hanging bridges down to the gushing waterfall, the size and power of which will not fail to impress.

After the visit to the mighty waterfall, you head back to Baños.

Your guide will inform you of the meeting place and time of the excursion the day before. Transportation to and from the meeting place is not included as it is within walking distance of your hotel. Admission to the Pailón del Diablo waterfall is payable locally (approximately 2 USD).

Remember to bring: Good shoes, a rain jacket, a sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and possibly a towel and an extra T-shirt if you want to go all the way over to the waterfall and splash about.
