This little hotel has a central location in Aguas Calientes, just 100 metres from the train station.
The hotel has 20 rooms, all of which are equipped with Wi-Fi, cable TV, bathroom, hair dryer and a safe.
The hotel has its own bar and restaurant. Buffet breakfast is served in the restaurant.
On the last night of the Salkantay trek, you spend the night at the Marco Wasi Hotel, located at the centre of Aguas Calientes and next to the main street, which features countless restaurants and cafés, as well as the thermal baths.
The rooms are plainly furnished, but all feature heating, cable TV, Wi-Fi and en-suite bathrooms, where you can take a well-earned hot bath after 2 days of trekking in the Andes Mountains.
Aguas Calientes is at the foot of Machu Picchu, and it takes about 30 minutes to drive there by bus the next morning. Although the departure for Machu Picchu is early, you can get a good breakfast here, served as a buffet and consisting of a selection of bread, fruit, yoghurt and muesli.
On Amantaní Island, you will be lodging with a local family under the homestay scheme. You will have your own room, but will usually have to share bathroom and toilet facilities with the family. The conditions are basic, but any lack of convenience is outweighed by the authentic experience of spending time with the local residents, observing their everyday lives at first hand.
This lodge is set in amazing surroundings in the heart of the Amazon, close to the Madre de Dios river. Corto Maltes Amazon Lodge comprises 27 comfortable wood-built bungalow. Each bungalow has its own private bathroom with hot water 24/7, a safe and a large terrace with hammocks, from where guests can enjoy the breath-taking view out over the Madre de Dios river and the surrounding jungle. In the gardens, guests can admire tropical trees and flowers and watch parrots and monkeys at play. The lodge has a bar, restaurant and swimming pool.
Maison du Soleil is located just a 15-minute walk from Santa Catalina Monastery, and within an easy stroll of Arequipa Cathedral and Plaza de Armas, the city’s central square.

Casa Andina Colca is a cosy, rustic hotel in Chivay.
The hotel has 51 rooms, all with an en suite bathroom, safe and heater, as it gets chilly out here at night due to the altitude. Chivay is located at an altitude of 3,600 metres.
The hotel has a small restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served.
It also has a small planetarium where you can learn more about the beautiful stars in the night sky.
Casa Andina is located in the Colca Valley, three hours from the city of Arequipa.
This very cosy hotel has 52 rooms and its own restaurant. Most of the hotel is built from stone, thatched roofing and tiled floors.
It also has its own planetarium (open March 7 – 15 December) and a massage room where guests can relax after a long day. The rooms are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, bathroom, safe and heaters for those colder days.
The hotel is located in the traditional San Pedro area – the historical centre of Cusco, just five blocks from the central square and 50 metres from the local market.

Villa Jazmin is an eco-friendly hotel located in a peaceful residential quarter just 8 minutes from the Huacachina Oasis and 5 minutes from the centre of town. The hotel is surrounded by magnificent sand dunes, which provide a truly marvellous view. There are 30 spacious rooms with WiFi, a TV, telephone, ceiling fan and separate bathroom. All rooms look out over the garden or the sand dunes. Facilities at the hotel include a restaurant, a heated pool and a pool bar.
On the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, you will be spending three nights camping, sleeping on comfortable mats in 4-person tents. You will be sleeping two to a tent, so there will be plenty of space for your luggage. The toilet conditions are basic, and there is no access to running water on the trail except on the last night, when all groups sleep in the same camp. Here, you can buy yourself a hot – much-needed – shower. The final camp also has a small shop selling drinks and snacks.
Look forward to sleeping under a starry sky with no light pollution, and to waking up to stunning views of the Andes Mountains.
At the heart of the Miraflores district, just 10 minutes on foot from the Pacific coast, is Virreynal Hotel. This is a charming and pleasant hotel that elegantly combines the old and the new. A marble staircase leads you to the reception, where you are met by impressive chandeliers, paintings and gorgeous antique gold-coloured furniture. Casa Andina is centrally located in Nazca within walking distance of the cosy square, Plaza del Armas, and the town’s restaurants and cafés.

Miranda Hotel stands in the heart of the Inca city of Ollantaytambo, from where there is a captivating view out over the Patacancha River and the surrounding mountains.

During the Salkantay trek, you spend the night in tents in the Andes Mountains near traditional Peruvian villages. You sleep on mattresses in spacious tents brought by the tour. Bathroom conditions are primitive, and there is no running water available during the trek itself.
You do not need to worry about moving tents and mattresses between camp sites – your guide and porters will take care of that with the aid of the pack horses they will bring on the journey. They will also handle all transport of food for the meals, the dining tent and its tables and chairs, as well as your personal baggage, which can weigh up to 6 kg.
