Just back from our trip and I thought I’d dash off some feedback while it was all fresh in my mind.
We’ve had a marvelous time – it was a real adventure! Not a relaxing holiday, it was quite challenging at times, but that’s what we expected.
Overall considering the number of hand-offs involved, the different hotels, methods of transport etc. we feel the trip has been extremely well organised and well managed. The hotels were a good standard on the whole, some very good – e.g. the Rosario in La Paz. All the journeys were well organised and of a good standard, and some over-delivered on expectations. For example, we expected the journey from Cusco to La Paz to be a long and fairly dull coach trip, but the coach was very clean and comfortable, and we had a delightful tour guide and assistant. We stopped 4 times at various places of interest, a very good lunch was included, and we were served drinks and local bread on the trip. Excellent! It felt like a day tour, not a coach journey to be endured.
In Cusco we were given a ticket which entitled us to free entry to a number of museums and a folk music show – again unexpected and very welcome.
On Amantani Island when we stayed with a local family, they organised a “party” for the tourists which was an unexpected treat.
All the guides were great – spoke good English and were very knowledgeable.
Overall we had a great holiday and I would recommend Llama Tours.
Hi Neil and all at Llamatours,
Just want to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday in Costa Rica. From the moment we arrived all our transfers and check ins were on time and went really smoothly. All the destinations were very different giving a good indication of how diverse this amazing country is. There is a huge amount of flora and fauna to be seen everywhere whether on guided tours or just travelling between destinations, and drivers are often very willing to stop for viewing. We started on the Caribbean coast in Tortuguero, an amazing experience on land and sea/canal of untouched rainforest. Then on to Arenal Volcano with its spectacular scenery and hot springs, and Monteverde with its beautiful cloud forests with skywalks, canopy tours etc.
Our next stop was in Rincon de la Vieja in the Guanacaste region further north towards the Pacific coast. This was very volcanic, we did a daytime tour walk in the national park. The hotel/lodge also offered zip lining, canoeing which we really enjoyed! Our main tour finished in Playa Samara on the Pacific coast, very unspoilt, beautiful and a rather stunning journey to get there.
All our guides and drivers were excellent, very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their country. We were very happy with our accommodation, and made some good friends along the way. We have some great photographs and memories of this special place. Many thanks.
We got back last night after a very enjoyable holiday. The Llamatours.co.uk itinerary worked very well and gave us a successful blend of ‘planned’ visits and enough free time to do our own thing . As hoped, the Torres del Paine National Park was literally the high point.
We have just returned from a two week holiday in Argentina and Brazil which included a visit to the Iguazu falls. We had a fabulous time and all arrangements made by Llamatours went like clockwork. The private transfers were all on time and all the guides spoke good English. The service from Neil who even arranged to print out and send to us the flight confirmations when we said we had a problem with our printer. Any queries we raised were answered efficiently and speedily. I am very happy to recommend their South American experience. It was a truly wonderful holiday. All the tours, accommodation and transport were beyond our expectations. The price was good as well.
Well done Llamatours.
The holiday was extremely good and we both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It was the our first time to visit South America and the whole holiday went like clockwork. The private transfers were all punctual, comfortable and with English speaking drivers. The city tour of Buenos Aires was interesting and fascinating to such an extent that we privately made arrangements to return to various areas again. The Tango show was much better than we had anticipated with a silver service 3 course dinner with wine at the same venue as the show. It was very professional and most enjoyable.
As you know we decided to take the Pampas tour to see the Gauchos and this was a great day out. The show was brilliant as was the food (too much really). We experienced a little horse riding and also a ride in a cart. The whole ranch was very welcoming and entertaining.
We had a couple of days to do our own thing so explored the city. The food was always very good and sufficient.
The highlight for me was the Iguazu falls which were awesome. It was a truly memorable experience to see and hear them both from Argentina, and Brazil the following day. It is difficult to find words that adequately describe the sensation. We decided to take the optional boat trip to go into the falls and although very wet were, once again a memorable and very enjoyable experience. We then transferred to Brazil where we experienced the Statue of Christ the Redeemer which is a wonderful iconic monument and access to the statue is by means of a very gentle train ride then an optional lift to the foot of the statue. (Or you can walk up numerous stairs)
We also took the cable car ride to the summit of Sugar Loaf mountain which was a great experience with amazing views over the whole of Rio from the top of both mountains. Fortunately we were blessed with great weather so could really appreciate the views. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Samba show which had a very bright Carnival atmosphere with an excellent meal beforehand in a restaurant where you chose your salads etc and then a number of waiters call at the table with various meats and you can eat as much as you like and when finished you turn over a card to show the red side which indicates you have had enough.
Over all the holiday was a great experience and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has a sense of adventure or who wants to experience a different culture and who wants something different from a holiday.
It was certainly one of our most memorable experiences and has given us a taste for South America.
Thank you for all your pre-holiday assistance. I need not have been worried about several issues as it all ran like clockwork.
Thank you for your email. I had been intending to let you know how the trip to Mexico went.
When we reached Mexico City for the “Highlights of Mexico” we were a bit anxious, but there were so many other people of different nationalities to meet each day, that it didn’t matter.
It was a great experience: so much to see, do, and explore, that it will be remembered by us both for a long time.
The organisation was impressive all through, and I would highly recommend Llamatours.co.uk to anybody thinking of taking a trip to see so much of this fascinating country. I’ve told all my family and anybody else who’ll listen, to do something really interesting and go to Mexico with Llamatours.co.uk!
Many thanks to all the team
We really enjoyed our trip to South America. Everything went to plan thank you. Buenos Aires lovely and lots of history there. Trip to ranch was great and Tango evening fabulous.
Iguazu falls are spectacular, certainly worth a visit.
Rio de Janeiro very interesting and Samba evening great. Trip to sugarloaf mountain and Christ mountain brilliant. All hotels were good very clean and free wifi provided.
Thanks again for a well organised trip.
When looking for a travel agent for my trip to Peru Llamatours seemed to be the ideal choice as they only specialised in South America. Neil the agent gave me all the information I needed to be able to Tailor the trip to suite my needs. The itinerary was just perfect for me as it covered everything I wanted to visit. All of the hotels were very spacious and comfortable, the guides very knowledgeable and all of the transfers went like clockwork. I have met on this trip some very wonderful people and this really has helped to make it very memorable holiday.
I will be returning to Latin America next year with Llamatours this time visiting Ecuador, I really can’t wait for this trip to come around because I know it will be just as good.
Thank you for organising our honeymoon tour for us, we really appreciated it. The holiday was fantastic and covered all the bases for us – Viñales was particularly beautiful.
Many thanks to everyone at Llama Tours and to Martha at the local agency.
We had a great holiday.
Tortuguero was brilliant. We had a guide – Piero who was very knowledgeable and we did two extra guided tours with him – one early morning and a night one. These were really good.
Monteverde hotel was good. Staff were particularly friendly and again we went on night walk which we would recommend.
The interbus and other transfer services were pretty much faultless and very prompt.
I hope that the above feedback is useful and we would recommend you to anyone we know who is thinking of going on a similar holiday.
On this tour, you will experience three of South America’s absolute highlights: Argentina’s beautiful capital Buenos Aires, the impressive Iguazú Falls and amazing Rio de Janeiro.
Get right up close to Costa Rica’s stunning scenery and wildlife in Tortuguero National Park, at Arenal Volcano and in Monteverde Cloud Forest, and end the tour at Playa Sámara’s beautiful beach.
